Deja Vu

It all sounds a bit familiar, more noises are being made from Barcelona about matters that don’t really concern them. It only seems like yesterday that Puyol, Messi and Co were demanding that Fabregas join them at the Camp Nou. After that failed attempt Messi urged Liverpool to be “humane” and allow Mascherano to join him at Barca. Now their buddy Xavi has spoken up and stuck the knife into Roy Hodgson’s Liverpool.

“Being brutally honest they haven’t brought any top-class players in to replace the ones they have sold,” Xavi also expressed his concerns about Spanish team mate Fernando Torres, “Nando deserves to be playing with the best players like he does with Spain. If Liverpool have another disappointing season that will be it for him” said Xavi.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that Liverpool are a team struggling at the moment and are a team in transition, but these comments from one of the worlds best footballers really lack class – is there a need for them? Maybe now the spanish season has started Xavi and Co will concentrate on playing football rather than shooting their mouths off to the press. Somehow, im sure we will here again from the boys at Barcelona very soon.

With two days to go until the transfer window shuts im sure there will be a few comings and goings in the Premier League, although don’t expect Harry Redknapp to be wheeling and dealing too much. When quizzed by sky sports presenter Rob Palmer about Tottenhams transfer prospects Redknapp was not best pleased.
