Week Two Review

The beating that Bohemka took from Plzen two weeks was always a difficult one to measure. There is no shame getting spanked by Plzen, especially if you are a newly promoted side, but the 5-1 beating dished out by Brno illustrates what a tough task Bohemka have to stay in the division. It was good news for Brno backers though. Hurrah!

Jablonec were a little unfortunate not to take anything from Sparta, but some really poor finishing cost them – Vít Beneš missed a sitter right at the end, proving he is better suited to his own penalty area and not the oppositions.

Slavia surrendered a 1-0 lead in Liberec but a win isn’t far away for them. I will be backing them to open their account at home to Olomouc on Monday evening – who are fresh off a 4-0 humping from Dukla with ex-Slavia striker Zbyněk Pospěch bagging all four goals. Typical.

Week Three Preview

As already mentioned, I expect Slavia to beat Olomouc this weekend and will be backing them at 1.85 with fortuna. They were around 2.00 at beginning of the week but have been punted into 1.85. Slavia have been playing well in patches but goal keeping errors, yet again, and a crazy 15 minutes cost them against Liberec. Their luck is due to change.

Mlada Boleslav, like Slavia, have just one point from their opening two games and they welcome Liberec – who are making a habit of slow starts. Liberec looked woeful against Zurich last night in the first half and conceded early, but Jaroslav Šilhavý managed to rouse the troops at half time and they ran out 2-1 winners.

The hosts have an excellent attacking unit with Jiří Štajner supplying the ammunition for Jan Chramosta and it’s just a matter of time before it clicks. Given the current trends I like the price of 1.95 with bwin on Mlada Boleslav to score first, I was tempted to back the hosts to win the game at 2.40 but Liberec seem to be the come-back kings at the minute and any outcome seems possible.

Jihlava and Teplice also made the shortlist this weekend, they have home matches against Znojmo and Dukla respectively but these games are probably best avoided from a punting perspective.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Slavia Praha to beat Sigma Olomouc at 1.85 with fortuna

Mlada Boleslav to score first against Slovan Liberec at 1.95 with Bwin
