Its been a good week for Arsenal, 2 victories inside of 4 days with 7 goals scored none conceded. The victory on Sunday was massive for Arsenal, no doubting that Boyata’a wreckless challenge and red card after 5 minutes put Arsenal in the control of the game, they could even afford the luxury of a rare missed penalty from their talisman Fabbers. The win at Middle Eastlands puts them handily placed 5 points behind Chelsea, up next is home tie with basement club West Ham which should almost certinately yield 3 points.
Wenger also made comments recently that they intend to take Carling Cup seriously this year and field a more experienced side, the likes of Walcott, Rosicky, Eboue and Bendtner started in last nights 4-0 demolition of Newcastle. Arsenal should rightly be favourites to win the Carling Cup and end their barren run of 5 years without a trophy. Of course, its the Premier League title which drives on Arsene’s team but a nice little trophy in March would boost confidence and help them push on in the title run in.
Its my opinion that Arsenal may not need to look for a top GK in January, current keeper Fabianski will make a top goalkeeper in time, he proved this with some vital stops against Citeh on Sunday. There is a great article here about Krzysztof Dowhan, the famous Polish goalkeeper coach who honed and developed Fabianski as a youngster, I hope that Wenger trusts him with the number 1 shirt for the rest of the season, Manual Almunia is just a disaster waiting to happen.
Arsenal have been my tip pre-season to wrestle the Premier League title from the blue side of West London and I still believe they will, I think every neutral fan would like to Arsene’s patience and persisitence in his methods pay off with a big trophy this season, the Carling Cup could well be a stepping-stone to domestic glory.

I think the Carling Cup will come down to ourselves and United – hopefully we can avoid them in Saturday’s draw. (No point in making life difficult for ourselves!)
It was a good performance last night, if not quite as great as the first 10 minutes promised. Really good to see Nic and Theo so lively after their injuries, and Koscielny continues to grow with every game.
Will we catch Chelsea? Don’t know. But we certainly appear to have a stronger and deeper squad than we have had for several years, which bodes well.

exactly, the squad is now much stronger and chamakh is a different kind of striker to RVP, the options are there now for Arsenal.. and Cesc has had an immense year, its almost now or never for this current Arsenal team.
